Get Moving App Reviews

Full of infos, cant work without location.

I was pleased as I opened the app to see much info at a glance and how I performed (or not) in my daily activity. Then I tried to start the inactivity timer; it wont work without the location services enabled... A big error appears whenever I try to start the timer, telling me it cant work without location, yeah right. Ill have to not use the timer, I might as week find another app instead. Really good though, if the location service problem is corrected, I would use it probably every day!

Will not function AT ALL if you wont let it track your location!

Used to be a 5-star app, until the latest update turned it into a whole different app. Seriously, you dont have to be "Moves", theres a reason I dont use that app and do use this one. Any chance of adding the option to just turn all the extra stuff off and keep using the "youve been sitting too long" reminder part of it? At the very least, theres no reason at all to require my location to tell if the phone has moved in the last 30 minutes. None.

Bought and Sold

Thoroughly enjoyable and precise.

What a waste.

Crashes on opening from the first time I tried to use it. I want a refund! Such a waste. Wish I could give zero stars.

No zoomed display support

The app doesnt support zoomed display mode on the iPhone 6. First app Ive seen have a problem. Very disappointing.

Great for Office Job

Im really enjoying this app so far. The inactivity time is great for my office job. I have repeat on and it works well. Id like to have the ability to have repeat turn on and off automatically based on either a day and time range or geolocation so I dont have to start it when I get to work and stop it when I leave.

Only app that gets reminders right

Get Moving is the only app I found that notifies you when you’ve been sitting too long but doesn’t notify you if you have moved recently. Most other apps do something like remind you to move every 30 minutes regardless of whether you already moved in the last 30 minutes. This leads to annoying over-reminding. Get Moving only reminds you if you haven’t moved in the last 30 minutes. Awesome! Unfortunately, Get Moving refuses to remind you unless you let it use GPS. As best I can tell, the only purpose for GPS access is to inform you where you were the most inactive. I have a pretty good idea of that already and would rather keep the battery power than be told my office is where I am most inactive. Please allow inactivity reminders to function without access to location services.

I like it

I wanted a program that would tell me if Ive been sitting too long. More than just a timer. This works well for me.

Simple and Effective

The app does one thing, and it does that one thing well. The reminder to move really does help me keep moving throughout the day. I hear the beep, I take a lap around the office, and Im back to it. Thanks for the great work Epic Pixie!

Not working

The inactivity timer is a nice idea. Its supposed to reset automatically if you move. However, it never resets on my iPhone 6.

Oren

Nice! But not working In the background

I cant make it work.

I think the only positive aspect of this app is the concept.

Does Not Work

The only thing it does as advertised is to reset the timer. Does not record or calculate anything, everything is all zeros. IPhone 6, all the settings have been activated as requested. It would be nice to have a feedback button were you could get some help.

Great app

This app is totally worth to get because It is working on my iPhone 5c

Crap

Requires lots and lots of permissions to give just result and it doesnt work for that very well, either. Why would an app to know my location, to be able to provide an inactivity timer? Recent iPhones have a dedicated motion tracking chip, you know?

Requires location services...

It really does not need location services, as it could use only motion data for the same purpose. I do not wish to have my battery drained/security potentially compromised for this app when it could use only notion data.

Good idea...

Ive been looking for an app that notifies me if Ive sat too long. This app does this (kind of). You have to have to allow the app to access the GPS for the app to work... WHY? If you let the app access the GPS continually, it kills your battery. I dont really care WHERE Ive inactive, I want to be notified IF Ive been inactive too long. The developer could have just used the motion chip in my iPhone to determine if Ive been inactive too long... As soon as this is changed, it will go to a 5-star app.

Needs a 90 min setting

Other than that no complaints. Works as advertised.

Results are inaccurate

I thought this might be a good app for checking my walking, my going up and down the stairs, and just normal. Unfortunately it does not count everything I do, and I have counted steps as I work around the house and it only seems to recognize about half of them. Today I went up and down my stairs at least four or five times and it shows zero. I am still looking for a good free pedometer , but this one is going to be deleted.

Developer wants to track where I am...

...just to trigger inactivity reminders/prompts? Give me a break. I do like the apps layout; the presentation of the data. I do not like the apps "snooping" and its running my battery down by mandating that GPS be on! OK, I could see that some small number of folks could be interested in seeing different location base data where they might end up being more or less active, but Im doubting thats a very large percentage of people. Most folks simply want prompts to "Get Moving" if they been sedentary too long. Heres an idea; put an option choice in your settings. How about allowing users whod like to preserve their already less than stellar battery life (its not like these iPhones are known for their great batteries) and let users choose if they want location info or not? (Its obvious the developer wants to know where you are but does he/she/they really need to for the app to work? Of course not! Maybe provide an option to use GPS or not? Just a little yes/no toggle switch in settings? Until this app stops depleting my battery I wont be making any use of it; goodbye Get Moving...
